Carol had three sons, Tim, Ben and Carl until December 13th 2007 when Ben died of cancer aged 21 years old. He passed away at the Douglas MacMillan Hospice, and from initial diagnosis November 1st 2007 until the last day of Ben''''s earthly life,December 07, he remained strong as did Carol and Ben''''s Dad and brothers, in the hope that a cure could be found for his illness. The Ben Howard Cancer Appeal has raised over £25,000 already (October 2009)and Carol is waiting to work alongside oncologists to bring gene therapy to North Staffordshire. Our charity has helped Ashley, Janet, Nora, Graham, Ian, all cancer sufferers. We have given individual grants between £500 and £3,000 to these people.
